SAYRS CONSULTING

The Sunset Soirée, hosted by the Los Angeles Women & Girls Initiative on Thursday, June 27, 2024, was a resounding success as it celebrated the conclusion of the initiative and the significant progress made towards gender equity. The event highlighted the achievements accomplished through the dedication and hard work of partners and contributors to the initiative's mission. From the implementation of policies removing barriers for women in fire and policing, to the integration of gender equity strategies across all 39 County departments and affiliate agencies, the impact of the Women and Girls Initiative was substantial and promising for the future of Los Angeles County. Attendees came together to commemorate these accomplishments and look forward to the lasting effects of the initiative's success in promoting gender equity in the community.

Notably, the WGI's success in promoting equity for all has inspired other equity initiatives in the County such as the recently formed Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (ARDI) Initiative. Counties across the country are also following suit, paving the way for a broader movement towards gender equity, ensuring that policies and government-funded programs eliminate any discrimination against women nationwide. The Los Angeles Women & Girls Initiative stands as a beacon of progress and a model for others to emulate, showcasing the power of collective effort in advancing equality and inclusivity for all.
